From 2019 through early 2022, the ferry system lost 155 more employees than it hired, management told legislators in 2022. In May 2022, 60% of the Alaska Marine Highway's jobs were vacant, the highest vacancy rate among any state agency. Spread the word, call your representatives let them know “I believe in Ferries”. So many folks use the ferry for a variety of reasons have it be for a Costco run because you live in a small village or using it to go on big hunting expedition to even traveling for a sporting event, we need these services. This summer marks some of the most progress made on Juneau’s Under Thunder Bike Park Trails. Having worked on this trail since 2018 there will always be a soft spot for this washed out trail. Since a lot of the Paydirt “trail” has been formed from the erosion from Thunder Mountain’s natural waterfalls and atmospheric rivers this trail is in a constant state of disrepair….and need lots of love throughout the year.
